Manage flashing configurations to ensure accuracy and consistency in production

Overview

Flashings are metal trim pieces commonly used in roofing and construction, including roof flashings and guttering trim pieces. They support accurate pricing, materials tracking, and consistent order management.

  • Only users with access to Flashings can add or edit them. Review user roles before commencing.

Flashing Details

Key details include:

  • Flashing Material

  • Flashing Options

  • Fees

  • Pricing


Flashing material

The Flashing name can be edited as follows:

  1. Make the desired edits.

  2. Click Save.


Flashing options

Thickness

  • Represents the metal thickness of the material used. Multiple thicknesses can be added, each creating a separate tab for pricing.

Steps:

  1. Type the thickness.

  2. Press Enter on the keyboard to confirm the entry.

  3. Click Save.

Colours/Finishes

  • Define the available colours and finishes for the flashing material.

Steps:

  1. Type the colour or finish

  2. Press Enter on the keyboard to confirm the entry.

  3. Click Save.


Fees

Additional charges applied to orders or quotes, commonly used for fabrication surcharges in metal shops.

Extra bend fee

  • Adds a cost for each bend when enabled.

Tapered fee/

  • Adds a cost for tapered or angled pieces when enabled.


Pricing

Pring table

  • Set girth minimums and maximums, as well as bends. Each thickness added creates a separate pricing tab.

Price level

  • Multiple price levels can be added. These mirror the initial table but start with zero values for customisation.


Add Flashings

Steps:

  1. Enter the Flashing Name in the Flashing Material field.

  2. Add Thickness by typing the value and pressing Enter on the keyboard.

  3. If applicable, enter Colours/Finishes and press Enter.

  4. Set up Fees for any additional charges (e.g., extra bends or tapered pieces).

  5. In Pricing, start by entering the Girth min and Girth max.

  6. To add additional rows, click + add row or right-click anywhere in the pricing table.

  7. Add Bends by right-clicking in the pricing table and selecting the appropriate option.

  8. Enter the Pricing for each configuration and add Price Levels if required.

  9. Click Save to finalise

  • Bulk import of flashing price tables is also available. Contact support@factory.app or send a message via Messenger within Factory to enable this feature.


Duplicate Flashings

Steps to duplicate a single flashing:

  1. Open the flashing to duplicate.

  2. Click the three-dot options menu (โ‹ฎ).

  3. Select Duplicate.

๐Ÿ“ Note

Flashings can also be duplicated in bulk from the Product Catalogue main page. Steps:

  • Select the checkbox next to the flashing(s).

  • Click Tools > Duplicate Products.


Delete Flashings

Steps to delete a single flashing:

  1. Open the flashing to delete.

  2. Click the three-dot options menu (โ‹ฎ).

  3. Select Delete.

  4. Confirm the action in the pop-up.

๐Ÿ“ Note

Flashings can also be deleted in bulk from the Product Catalogue main page. Steps:

  • Select the checkbox next to the flashing(s).

  • Click Delete.
