Overview
A saved view holds your desired view under a name of your choosing, so you can refer back to it whenever you need. This works in the same way as saved views in Workflow. Set one as your default and the Planner opens that way for you every morning, without you rebuilding it. Views are how the Planner holds a setup, which makes this the article to read if your filters keep disappearing.
đ„ Access permissions
Anyone who can open the Planner can create, edit and delete a saved view. Review user roles before granting access.
đ Location in the app
Productivity>Planner>Views
Why a setup needs saving
The Planner opens on a clean board. Filters and your colour lens reset when you reload the page, so nobody inherits a filtered board they did not set up and cannot explain.
A saved view is how a setup is kept. Build the board the way you want it, save it, and mark it as your default.
Views belong to the whole company
This is the part worth being clear about before you start naming things.
A saved view is shared. Everyone who can open the Planner sees every view.
Anyone can change or delete any view, including views someone else created. There is no confirmation step and the change is immediate.
Your default is yours. Choosing which view opens for you is the only personal part.
In practice, name views so it is obvious who they are for and what they do. Install crew, this week survives a shared list better than Mine.
đ Note
Updating the view you are currently in also saves your current board into it. If you open a view, change the filters to check something, then update the view to fix a typo in its name, the filters you were experimenting with are saved into it as well. Reload the view before renaming it.
