Overview
Before your team can use the Kiosk, two things need to be in place: everyone who'll clock on and off needs their own account with a PIN, and your shared device needs to be paired to Factory. This article walks through both, plus how to disconnect the device later if you need to.
๐ฅ Access permissions
Only Administrators and Power Users can pair and disconnect the Kiosk. Review user roles before granting access.
๐ Location in the app
Settings>Time Tracking>Kiosk
Before you start: accounts and PINs
Everyone you want clocking on and off through the Kiosk needs their own Factory account.
To add someone, go to Settings > Team, select Add team member, choose Standard, enter their email address, and pick the role they should have. Most people using the Kiosk will be productivity users โ they don't need to see the sales side of things โ but choose whatever suits their role.
Because the Kiosk always requires a PIN, encourage your team to set a PIN when they sign up. You can also make PINs mandatory by turning on require PINs when clocking on and off under Settings > Time Tracking.
๐ Note โ managing PINs
As an Administrator or Power User, you can set or edit a team member's PIN from
Settings>Team.Anyone who isn't an Administrator or Power User can set or change their own PIN from their profile.
Who appears on the Kiosk worker list
The Kiosk worker list shows your standard team members. Administrators, Power Users, and delivery-only (delivery scheduling) users are not shown on the worker list.
Pairing your device
The Kiosk runs in its own browser at kiosk.factory.app โ separate from the main Factory web app. You pair a device once, and it stays on the worker list ready to use all day.
To pair:
In Factory, go to
Settings>Time Tracking>Kioskand turn on Enable Kiosk. A pairing code appears.Copy the pairing code.
On your shared device, open kiosk.factory.app in a browser and select Connect.
Paste the code in and select Link device.
Your device is now paired and shows the worker list. It stays paired until someone disconnects it โ see below.
๐ Note โ pairing codes
The pairing code changes over time, so if the code you copied no longer works, refresh the Kiosk settings screen to get a fresh one.
Each new device you pair needs a fresh code. A fresh code can be used to pair more than one device.
Pairing a device with a new code does not affect devices that are already linked โ they stay connected until manually disconnected.
See below where you can find the pairing codes - Settings -> Timetracking -> Kiosk
Disconnecting your kiosk
You don't have to disconnect the Kiosk โ you can leave a device paired for as long as you like. If you do want to disconnect it, you'll need a supervisor PIN.
Anyone who is an Administrator or Power User is treated as a supervisor. As long as that person has a PIN set, entering it on the device lets them disconnect the Kiosk from time tracking in Factory.
๐ Note
Make sure at least one Administrator or Power User has a PIN set, or no one will be able to disconnect the device.
