US Measurements

Supporting Imperial measurements in lineal feet and square feet

Overview

This feature allows products to be sold and tracked using Imperial measurements, making it easier to align with customer expectations and industry standards in the US. It improves accuracy in ordering, reduces conversion errors, and streamlines communication with customers who prefer feet-based measurements.

US Measurements is currently a managed feature. To enable this for your account, please reach out to our team:

  • In-App: Message us via the Messenger widget (bottom right corner).

    Once enabled, you will be able to follow the configuration steps below.


Settings

Before adding products measured in lineal feet or square feet to orders, ensure the following settings (via Settings > Sales) are configured correctly:

  • Duplicate length and square feet line items when kit quantities are increased: Automatically adjusts items when kit quantity changes.

  • Minimum length charge (Lineal feet products): Sets a minimum billable length even for small orders.


Product

Selling

Once enabled, products can be configured to be bought or sold in lineal feet or square feet.

  • If there are existing products set up to Lineal Metres and Square Metres, contact support@factory.app or message the team via the in-app Messenger to assist converting them to Lineal Feet or Square Feet.

Buying

Products using square feet or lineal feet measurements are not yet supported for purchase orders. Support for this is planned for a future update.

Tracking

In the Tracking tab of a product, current stock levels can be entered using the selected unit of measurement.

  • Lineal Feet

  • Square Feet


Sales Orders

When adding these products to a sales order, lengths can be entered directly.

πŸ“ Note

  • Please use fractions (e.g., 1/4) for lengths. Decimal inputs (e.g., 0.25) are currently not supported in this field.


Purchase Orders

Support for purchase orders using lineal feet and square feet measurements is coming soon.
