Common questions about setting up and customising Dashboard in Factory

Updated yesterday

Q: Will the dashboard cards I add be visible to other team members in our Factory account?

A: No. Each logged-in user has their own independent dashboard, which they can customise without affecting others.

Q:What happens when I click on the Factory logo?

A: This depends on your user role and access level:

  • Administrators, Power Users, and Standard Users
You’ll be taken back to the Dashboard from anywhere in the app.

  • Productivity and Workflow Only Users
You’ll be redirected to the Workflow page, and any applied filters or views will be reset.

  • Deliveries Only Users
You’ll be taken to the Delivery Scheduling page with a reset view.

  • Time Tracking Only Users
You’ll be returned to the Team Member selection screen.

Q:What information can I search using Global Search?

A: Global Search allows you to quickly find and access a wide range of data, including:

  • Customers

  • Suppliers

  • Orders

  • Products

  • PO/Reference

You can locate historical orders or initiate new sales and purchase activities—all within the same search experience.

Q: I reviewed the available dashboard cards, but none match the report we need. What can I do?

A: If you can’t find a suitable dashboard card, you can submit a feature request.

Simply click the “Share it with us” button via the message widget in Factory and let us know what would be valuable for your workflow.

Q: If I apply filters on a dashboard and export a dashboard card, will those filters apply to the exported data?

A: Yes. Any filters applied to the dashboard will also be reflected in the exported data.

Q: Where can I update the company logo displayed on the Dashboard?

A: To update your company logo:

  1. Go to Settings in the top-right corner of the page

  2. Select Company

  3. Scroll to the Company Logo section

  4. Click Change logo

  5. Upload and select your new logo from the pop-up window

Q: I don’t see a button to create a quote from the dashboard. How can I create one?

A: To create a quote in dashboard:

  1. Click Create Sales Order

  2. Enter the Customer, Contact, and Order details

  3. Choose Submit as Quote instead of submitting as an order

Creating a quote you will need to select Create sales order button and after you selected the Customer, Contact details, and Order details you'll have the options to either Submit as Quote or Submit as Order.

Q: When I click the Factory logo, I’m taken to the Workflow page instead of the Dashboard. Why?

A: This happens because your access level is set to Productivity and Workflow Only User.

Users with this role are directed to the Workflow page by default and do not have access to the Dashboard navigation.
