How Your Customers Pay an Invoice Online
Once you have Factory's Invoice Payments set up, your customers can pay invoices by card in a few simple steps β directly from the invoice you send them.
Where they'll see the Pay Now button?
Invoice email: a Pay Now button appears prominently alongside the invoice amount and due date.
Online invoice page: if your customer opens the invoice in their browser, the payment button appears above the fold.
PDF invoice: a clickable payment link is included for customers viewing the PDF.
The payment experience
Your customer receives the invoice and clicks Pay Now.
They are taken to a secure, Stripe-hosted payment page.
They enter their card details and confirm the payment.
Stripe processes the payment and sends an automatic receipt to your customer by email.
Your invoice updates to Paid in Factory in real-time.
The payment syncs to your accounting software instantly.
Accepted payment methods
Visa, Mastercard, and American Express β credit and debit cards. International cards are accepted.
Bank transfer remains available as an option. Enabling online payment on an invoice gives your customers a choice β it does not remove bank transfer.
Fees
Your customer pays a processing fee of 1.6% + 30c per transaction. This is charged by Stripe at the point of payment. You receive the full invoice amount β no fees are deducted from your payment.
πNote: Customers who prefer not to pay the card fee can still pay by bank transfer at no extra cost.
Receipt and confirmation
Your customer receives an automatic email receipt from Stripe immediately after payment. They can also download a PDF receipt from the Stripe payment confirmation page. You will be notified of the successful payment and the invoice status in Factory will update to Paid in real-time.
